As a health psychologist, Professor Winefield is particularly interested in helping relationships, whether informal or professional. She has interest and expertise in research and clinical practice relating to family and professional care-giving in illness & disability, occupational health psychology (work stress, work-life balance, worksite health promotion), lifespan psychosocial development: adolescence, emerging adulthood, ageing, all in relation to workforce participation.
Professor Winefield also conducts research relating to animals and their impact on emotional support to people and/or encouraging health-promoting physical or social activity.
