Dr Alexis Wheeler has obtained a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, for which she was awarded the College of Clinical Psychologists Prize. She is currently a Registered Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar at PsychMed. She has experience in a wide range of clinical presentations, in addition to facilitating group programs for trauma-related conditions and borderline personality disorder.
Dr Wheeler has a particular interest in the mind-body relationship, which inspired her to undertake a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology, where she specialised in research in comorbid mental health and medical conditions. She has extensive experience in clinical trials, working in mental health outpatient clinics, hospitals and Universities for over a decade, and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Wheeler also supervises university psychology students undertaking their Honours research project, and peer-reviews both Psychology Honours and Masters research theses.
Dr Wheeler is passionate about combining her theoretical, research and clinical backgrounds with her genuine interest in promoting individual well-being through evidence-based practice.
